Coby Intros New-Gen. Netbook -- 10", $240 -- EEE, etc., got expensive.
by Clayton Hallmark Sunday, Jun. 28, 2009 at 12:29 AM

Coby Electronics enters S. America, Asia with New Generation netbooks . Will replace the original ones from Asus, etc., which have migrated up to be nothing more than expensive notebooks. Long awaited, controversial, revolutionary.

INDYMEDIA has been vindicated. This is after Indymedia was skinned alive by people like Joel Hruska and Ross Rubin last December http://arstechnica.com/hardware/news/2008/12/a100-midget-pc-at-the-local-dollar-store-not-so-fast.ars for reporting that Coby Electronics -- the Champ of Cheap Electronics -- would be offering cheap PCs in Big Lots stores and drugstores, etc.

Well, Indymedia was right. Also, computers are important to users of Indymedia, and we are computer-literate, even techies in many cases.

WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?

It's not that Indymedia was right and the corporate shills were wrong. The thing is, Coby in computing is a game-changer -- for us and for some of the world's biggest companies.

For more information on the computer revolution, please go here: http://alpha-400-mips-elonex-razorbook-coby.blogspot.com/2009/06/coby-electronics-netbook-confirmed-here.html

The reason? Because Coby can do what netbooks didn't. Make computers truly cheap for everyone. Price creep (upwards) in netbooks has brought us right back where we were before Asus introed the EEE.

Coby can sell a 10-inch laptop for $240, and smaller ones for much less. As the graphic shows, if you can read a page from a typewriter or printer, a 10-inch screen is big enough. (SEE GRAPHIC.) This can replace most people's computer.

COBY HAS 8 NETBOOKS ON ITS WEBSITE

Here at last is the proof: SEE GRAPHIC and go to the Coby site: http://alpha-400-mips-elonex-razorbook-coby.blogspot.com/2009/06/coby-electronics-netbook-confirmed-here.html

If someone tells you that this is a "different Coby" and not the one you see at Big Lots and Dollar stores, consider the THIRD GRAPHIC or go to this Coby page: http://www.cobysz.com/newEbiz1/EbizPortalFG/portal/html/about.html

Yes COBY has netbooks, and more than one.

So far, the 10-inch model NBPC 1022 has been released in S. America, Korea, and some other parts of Asia.
